The Tears of a Clown

Now if there's a smile upon my face…

Good News Day

I’ve one or two little snippets of personal good news currently but this story easily trumps them. I am so pleased to hear from the lunchtime TV news that Shannon Matthews, the little girl from West Yorkshire who went missing on the nineteenth of February, has been found alive.

At this early juncture it is only understood that she has been found at a nearby address to her home and that her mother has been driven away by police at 2pm. Earlier in the week, Mrs. Matthews made ominous claims that she knew who her daughter’s abductors were and that the nine-year old had been snatched in order to hurt her mother.

It is reported that two hundred police officers and sixty detectives have been involved in the hunt for Shannon. We await now with interest to understand what this sad story was really all about.

For now we can celebrate that this particular story has a happy ending as so few similar cases seem to have a similar conclusion. How wonderful to think of Shannon being reunited with her mother and family after this cruel, tortuous wait.

Welcome home, Shannon.
